Joanna is passionate marketing executive with the unique blend of a science and sales background. Joanna has spent the majority of the last twenty years within the Australian and International dental industry. Being able to draw on the scientific knowledge of dental materials and understanding the needs to the dental clinician has been an incredible advantage when Joanna made the transition to Marketing.
After graduating from RMIT with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry, Polymers major), Joanna began as a Research & Development Scientist at SDI Limited in Melbourne in 1999. After three years in the laboratory and developing one of SDI's now flagship products, Pola Advanced Tooth Whitening System, Joanna got a taste for Marketing when she transitioned into that department to launch Pola into the local and international markets. Wanting to develop her Marketing skills, Joanna continued her career in Marketing within a couple of the world's largest dental consumable companies. In July 2016 Joanna returned to SDI Limited as their Scientific Affairs and Training Manager and within a month moved in the role she still holds now as the Global Marketing Manager.
SDI Limited is an Australian manufacturer of dental materials exporting to over 100 countries globally. With offices in Cologne, Chicago, Sao Paulo and head office in Brazil, SDI is a very vertically integrated organisation run out of Bayswater, Melbourne. SDI not only manufacture the dental restoratives, tooth whitening and equipment but they also manufacture the majority of the plastic components, develop and manufacture the raw materials that go into their products as well as assemble the manufacturing plant machinery to ensure everything is customised to their needs. Founded in 1972 and with the first products being silver amalgam fillings, SDI's core focus now is based on white tooth coloured restorations as well as tooth whitening materials and pioneering dentistry for better oral health.
Joanna is responsible for developing, executing and driving the global marketing strategy. As one of her first major projects Joanna drove the biggest re-branding project SDI has undergone to date. Joanna is also responsible for the SDI Brand and its products, the Training structure, Digital Marketing, Communications, Graphic Studio, Opinion Leader engagement, Research as well as the day-to-day support of the Sales Teams globally.
