Chris Saxby

Marketing & Comms Business Partner
Chris has 18 years of experience purposely focusing on being a generalist marketing and communications practitioner but unintentionally specialising in the professional services industry. Starting out as a journalist, he moved into public relations and corporate communications before taking on broader business development and marketing roles in the engineering, legal and advisory sectors.  Keeping the professional services sector engaging and exciting and applying non-traditional marketing and communications techniques more familiar with the business to consumer sector is what Chris is passionate about. As part of international engineering, design, and advisory company Aurecon’s Global Infrastructure Leadership Team, he is looking to the future of infrastructure and interpreting what this means through multi-channel content, thought leadership and key messaging for clients. Chris helps to interpret the complex issues affecting the aviation, transport and water sectors, presenting solutions that foster innovation, engage the communities in which Aurecon works and promoting the human-centric understanding of its clients and their customers across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, allowing them to be future ready. Previous marketing and communications roles at a leading law firm and a global construction company helped to hone Chris’ professional services knowledge and business to business marketing techniques.  However, it was in 2017 when Chris started an MBA majoring in Marketing that he began to look further into what professional services marketers can learn from their fast-moving consumer goods counterparts and this is an area that has become a personal focus.  He encourages collaboration between the two sectors to achieve more engaging, data driven and creative outcomes.
