David is Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Deloitte’s Consulting practice, responsible for marketing, brand and eminence programs for the business worldwide. Previously he was CMO of Deloitte Australia for 12 years, and was named Australian Marketer of the Year 2012 by the Australian Marketing Institute for his part in Deloitte’s local turnaround from a $300m sector laggard to a $1b leader renowned for innovation, creativity and culture.
A Deloitte partner since 2005, David is a founding member of the firm’s Global Brand Council and served on the board of The Deloitte Foundation for its first 10 years. Prior to Deloitte he worked in radio and print journalism, communications, brand consulting, music and photography in Australia, Spain, the UK and US. He’s held positions at Landor Associates, BEA Systems, iXL and PWC. His work has been published or broadcast in the Financial Times, London Times, Chicago Tribune, La Vanguardia, The Guardian, The Australian, Journal of Brand Strategy, 2JJJ, ABC Radio, and BBC Radio 4.
David won a New York Telly Award 2004 for creative direction in video; an IABC Gold Quill 2009 for communications strategy; and 2nd place, Abstract category in the global IPPA Photography Awards 2017. His videos, soundtracks, imagery and ‘poetic narratives’ have been viewed by a global audience through Instagram, Twitter and YouTube channels.
